DTROT Credenza

60"L. x 24"W. x 34"H.

This is a custom credenza (sideboard) design for the Consulate General of Canada in Detroit, commissioned by Global Affairs Canada. This piece draws inspiration from the iconic modern Gordie Howe International Bridge, currently under construction. DTROT credenza is more than furniture; it symbolizes the friendly connection between Canada and the USA, celebrating modern design inspired by a significant landmark.

The design process began with an exploration of the Howe Bridge’s sleek lines and robust structure. The credenza’s body is constructed from Eastern Maple, reflecting the bridge's strength, and accented with black steel to emulate its base and structure. The front panel features a geometric pattern inspired by the bridge's cable-stayed design, adding visual interest and a nod to structural ingenuity.

Bridge rendering images were taken from the Gordie Howe International Bridge websitesite and the Building Transformations website.
