As the founder, Cristian strives to keep all manufacturing local. Components of the pieces are sourced largely from Victoria, with occasional support from other parts of Vancouver Island and Vancouver. By keeping manufacturing local, our goal is to generate better cooperation among Victoria’s business community and support a sustainable and capable industry on the island. 

Arostegui Studio was founded by the furniture designer and maker Cristian Arostegui G. His Chilean background in architecture and advertising, complemented by the fine furniture program at Humber College in Toronto, helped him to refine his ability to design and handcraft his own furniture pieces. The blend of South American influences and creative/technical training materialize into highly unique, personal and versatile modern furniture designs.

Cristian is also the co-founder and lead designer of Caramba Furniture, a flat-pack furniture company based in Victoria, BC. All their products are made locally with high-quality European plywood.

Caramba Furniture began with Arostegui’s idea to create a brand with the goal to produce high-quality furniture that is long-lasting, affordable, and space-efficient. With full production locally in Victoria, BC, all Caramba products are made with sustainably-sourced European plywood. 

The idea grew and 2 partners came on board. With this, the design collection also grew to a range of designs. From a long and round coffee table, the collection expands to offer work from home (WFH) desks, lounge chairs, stools, side tables, and small products.
